I started examining my “Christmas Home.” It isn’t very natural. All December I bake my plastic artificial Christmas Tree and my petroleum ice cycle garland with warm acrylic Christmas lights. My new, homemade, reusable, natural Christmas Tree is the first of my more “natural” changes. The pre-made versions are quite expensive, and buying a Christmas tree every year that litters needles on my floor and stays in the yard for four months is not an option, right now. I also wanted it to store easier than my plastic artificial one. I made mine from maple wood so I wouldn’t have to paint it. The total cost of the maple wood project…$36.18. I could have saved a lot of money by buying cheaper pine wood. The total cost of pine is about $11.00, not including paint. I didn’t include paint because I intended to make milk paint, which would have used materials I had.

Any ideas for “natural” lighting (that won’t burn down the house) and decorations that add pizzazz? I’d love your ideas!
