The Jesse Tree Devotional
What is a Jesse Tree? The name “Jesse Tree,” comes form a passage in Isaiah (Isaiah 11:1-2) that tells of the Messiah coming form the family of Jesse. God’s plan to save his people was to come through Jesse and King David. The Jesse tree is God’s plan of redemption from creation to Jesus’ birth. This Jesse tree is a family-advent-Daily Devotional to help prepare our hearts for the celebration of Jesus’ birth, “Christmas.”
My Jesse Tree Story: Years ago I found a great Advent Daily Devotional from Focus on the Family. We did it as a family for many years. But I always longed for something a little more hands-on. It took me two years to create, but I am so excited about my new Jesse Tree Daily Advent Devotional! It has ornaments the kids help create, a devotional for each day of Advent with verse references, and it is convenient to display and store. The Jesse Tree was a collaborative effort. I am so blessed to have a pastor that would do homework for me. My pastor wrote the devotionals and I can’t wait to read them to the children. I drew the illustrations and the children colored the pictures before I laminated them. You too could have your children’s art as a keepsake to enjoy for many years to come.
